Linda Walker is senior director of corporate engagement for forests at World Wildlife Fund (WWF). She manages a team that works with US companies on leadership actions they can take to sustain global forests for people and nature through implementing responsible forestry and forest-product sourcing, supporting landscape-scale efforts such as forest restoration, and advocating for strong forest policies.

For 10 years, Linda led WWF’s Global Forest & Trade Network (GFTN). She now heads a new corporate program called Forests Forward. Forests Forward engages and advises major companies on how to use nature-based solutions and responsible sourcing to meet sustainability goals while protecting forests and the rights of forest communities.

Prior to WWF, Linda spent more than a decade at The Nature Conservancy, advancing land stewardship and land-protection activities in Washington State and Maryland. She also worked for Rainforest Alliance as a Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) chain-of-custody auditor. Her international focus has primarily been the tropical forests of Indonesia, specifically mitigating the negative impacts of pulp and paper production and advancing solutions for supporting forests, wildlife, and local communities.

Linda holds a BA in geography and environmental studies from Bucknell University and a master’s degree in forestry from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. She serves on the board of the Forest Stewardship Council-US.

Linda lives in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia with her husband and son.
