As Senior Policy Advocate for International Climate and Policy, Benjamin works on the Policy and Government Affairs team to advance WWF’s strategic priorities related to international climate finance and policy. Benjamin works with key stakeholders including the US Congress, US Government agencies, multilateral and bilateral institutions, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations to strengthen international efforts on climate change and investment. He is focused on advancing support for bilateral and multilateral climate change programs like the Green Climate Fund, US foreign policy and foreign assistance with respect to climate resilience/adaptation and nature-based solutions, and engagement with the G7, G20, and UN General Assembly.

Benjamin has been working in Washington, DC for a decade to deliver for government, private sector, and non-profit organizations. Most recently, Benjamin founded a non-profit focused on education in Liberia and worked for a social enterprise delivering on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals across Africa and South Asia. Previously, he worked as a political appointee advisor at the US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to advance clean energy and climate finance, and he began his career as a White House intern in the National Economic Council. Benjamin was a former fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI). Benjamin believes deeply in a Net Zero future and that accelerating climate investment is key to meeting global 2030 and 2050 climate goals.

“The last few years have shown us that global cooperation is key to solving enormous global health, security, and energy challenges. This next decade to 2030 will prove whether we can mutually focus investment and commitments to wean the US off of hydrocarbons that continue to hold our economy and our air hostage by insecure regimes. Only a transition to clean and alternative domestic energy sources can ensure our national and environmental security.”
