Brazil’s Atlantic Forest: A Journey to 1 million Acres

Brazil’s Atlantic Forest is a global biodiversity hotspot that is home to many species found nowhere else on earth. Millions of people depend on it for food, freshwater, climate regulation, clean air, medicine, and livelihoods. Unfortunately, this forest has experienced massive conversion to agriculture and what remains is highly fragmented, making it one of the most endangered biomes in the world.

As a part of their goal to restore, protect, and sustainably manage 1 million acres of forests worldwide, WWF and HP are working with communities and local partners in the Atlantic Forest, like REGUA, to ensure critical forest ecosystems benefit nature and people for future generations to come.
